Art has been a passion of mine since I was a young girl sitting in the woods outside my house drawing the trees around me. My passion for drawing and painting trees grew stronger with each passing year. Twenty plus years later I am still staring at the trees around me in wonder and amazement at the fantastic ways they twist and turn as they seek a glimpse of the sun.

My love of the visual arts led to a wonderful career in teaching which keeps my artistic spark alive as I draw, paint, and design with my students in the classroom each day. I am also a member of The Art IN Hand Gallery in Zionsville, Indiana which allows me to mix with my fellow artists and patrons and to continue fanning my artistic spark.

In my free time I like to travel, sketching the trees, flowers, and diverse landscapes I encounter. My sketches often change course when they hit the canvas as I alter colors, textures, and negative space to express my mood and emotion on the canvas. It is my hope that when someone views my work that they are able to feel an emotion from the colors and imagery they encounter and that it is a blessing to them.
